Excuse the lack of makeup, but I was just too tired to put it back on at the end of the day... yep, even stylists give up on their makeup from time to time. It's been several days (and more to come!) of early mornings and late nights, and it's times like these when I just. love. dresses.
Dresses are awesome, because you can just put one on and go! As long as the fit is right and the style appropriate. To help ensure that your dresses at home are truly effortless, there are a few things you can do:
- Make sure the hemline is proportional to your body (the easiest point to find is around the center of the knee)
- Look for a flattering neckline that is neither too low or too high (usually around your breastbone)
- Choose a fit that skims the body without clinging or poofing
- Stock finishing pieces like jackets or vests that are cropped in length (usually ending around the natural bend in your waist)
This was still a hot day starting around noon, but I could still feel a hint of Fall air in the morning and evening. Getting closer to boot and coat weather! Good thing, too, because I'm wearing out my sandals...
