Only the second month of the year, and I've got myself a tonsil infection... which means the very last thing I want to do is run around with my shoulders and chest uncovered as it threatens rain. So much for early adoption of that Spring trend!

I really, really wanted to bundle up cozily and disguise my awful coif and visage, but it never makes me feel better to go out and about in pajamas. If anything, it creates the illusion in my own mind that I'm sicker than I really am. So I was determined to fake a half-normal appearance so I could eat my Pho and will myself better.

All I have to say is: Thank Heaven for hats, sunglasses, and cuddly sweater coats!

I'm not sure where I'm going with this post (blame it on the cold meds), but this experience jogged loose a few helpful thoughts about the power of clothes:

  • Both sweatpants and jeans go on one leg at a time.
  • "Fake it 'till you make it" is a thing.
  • Comfy need not be ugly.
  • Soft fabrics soothe the body; Pleasing design can soothe the mind.
  • It feels good to create order when life is in disorder.
  • Next year, I need more sweaters. ;)

I'll be back tomorrow with more trends, Friends! Stay safe and out of the rain if you can!
