And now an interlude from all the Serious Image-Building Talk to show you some new boots! Squee!
I need to get these boots altered a little bit at the top to fit my leg better, but I couldn't resist wearing them on a recent rainy day. Even though I have plenty of knee-high boots for my climate, most of them are rugged - I love how these are literally high-shine and polished. The slim heel and close fit at the ankle make them ladylike, and the gray patent leather means they are both practical and different than the everyday rain boot.
I'm excited to also get on the Spring boot trend this year and wear these with bare legs and floaty dresses once the weather warms up!
Not bad for $8 at the Goodwill. :)
Thrift shopping is an awesome way to expand your wardrobe in ways that surprise you - I'm not sure I would have added gray patent boots to my wish list specifically, but they hit the spot on my cravings for sure. And with the price point, I don't have to bat an eyelash about a minor alteration or repair.
The next time you need a little je ne sais quois in your life, why not try out your local thrift store and see if an unexpected solution presents itself? If nothing else, it's a good experiment and helps you expand your choices while creating your perfect look.
