Nordstrom Designer Sale

Nordstrom is having a secret Designer Sale! I did not get any email promotions from Nordstrom, but I heard about deals up to 60% off through my Internet trolling, and it's true!

This is a fab way to get really great deals on some unique, well-made workwear pieces that will last for years. In terms of using more exciting and interesting fabrics and cuts to mix up your professional wardrobe (without looking too young or trendy), designer labels really do do it best.

If you aren't familiar with these brands and how they fit, the best thing to do is to call your local Nordstrom store and ask if there is a designer section/event happening near you. Not all stores carry designer lines, and most only have a selection of certain designers.

If you can't get to a store or don't have the right brands near you, here is my experience:

Armani - goes up to size 16, but definitely runs small compared to other mid-range brands that go up to 16. Fairly TTS for designer, and often cuts a more pronounced waist good for hourglass shapes.

Caroline Issa - A favorite for my slim hourglasses-straight figured ladies.

Max Mara - May run small, especially the pants. They seem to usually go for a higher rise.

St. John - They have really become much more modern lately! They also carry larger sizes, and they often run large. I am usually a 2-4, and my St. John pencil skirt is a 0. A go-to for ladies with some curves.

Happy shopping, ladies! And if you are in SoCal or another warm-weather clime, be sure to remember to prioritize the lightweight fabrics and lighter colors that will soon disappear from shelves in favor of Fall woolens, coats, and boots!
