A lot of my outfits are born of practicality these days and, while this one is also very practical in the sense that I had to be ready to do some physical feats of the closet clean-out nature (hence the leggings), it all started with the joy of two new items: my Doma Punched Scale Jacket and my Kaleidoscope Lens Necklace.
The jacket was both a deal and a challenge. I was able to score it for only $20 (down from the original $620), but only because it was severely torn up the back and into one armpit seam. I had never done this type of repair before, but I had an idea in mind - and the risk clearly paid off. I will follow up with DIY details soon, but for now I am just happy to bask in my victory.
This killer necklace is also kind of a teaser-trailer for another upcoming post - it was a gift from the fabulously inventive artist Deniz Nicole, who I had the insane pleasure of meeting just this past weekend. Stay tuned to hear all about the inventor of pyropainting, her amazing jewelry, her upcoming installation, and of course her unique style.
