Occasion: Client Appointment
Dress Code: Smart Casual
Outdoor Temps: 64°F
Activity Level: Low
Wearing: Veda leather jacket (Ebay), Theory new recovery pants (Marshall's), Uniqlo extra warm leggings (under my pants, Uniqlo), 14th & Union OTK boots (Nordstrom Rack), VLM Abacus Pendant Necklace (VLMjewelry.com), J. Crew sweater (flea market)
As the temperatures wind down, my sensitivity to the cold is jumping to the fore. It's kind of ridiculous: one day I'm peachy keen at 70 degrees, but five degrees lower and my teeth chatter like it's the North Pole! I'm so glad that we now have a Uniqlo right down the street - for 2 years now, their Heattech leggings have kept me warm and prevented me from walking the streets of LA in a snowsuit.
With my legs adequately warmed and minimal bulk added, I'm free to wear all my favorite sweaters, jackets, and boots! Huzzah! This hi-low leather number by Veda is always a hit - I love love love how the curved hemline keeps my tush warm without turning it into a wide load.
Over the knee boots are also a fave for keeping toasty, since they add yet another layer of warmth to my feet, legs, and kneecaps. This pair was a steal at something like $25! It is very reminiscent of the Stuart Weitzman Demiswoon style, dontchathink??
However you do it, keeping nice and warm in style is a great way to get the most out of the winter season. It makes me happy about the chance to wear my favorites instead of grumpy about the fact that I have to layer up. ;)
