A Little Bit Rusty

Occasion: Client Returns, Meeting
Dress Code: Casual
Outdoor Temps: 74°F
Activity Level: Low
Wearing: Free People "Clean Moto" (Nordstrom), H by Bordeaux t-shirt (Nordstrom Rack), Big Star Jeans (gratis from when I worked at Nordies), Timberland booties (can't remember), Tory Burch tote (Goodwill Boutique), DIY pulley necklace (hardware store).

The break from the business casual dress code continues this week with my trusty rusty red jacket from Free People, which just might be me one full-price purchase of the year so far. It's already reaping dividends in spades just by making it possible for me to wear a heavier jacket look earlier than normal because of its comfy, breathable fabrication and lining.

This is my favorite outfit involving the rust jacket so far - wearing tonal or adjacent colors together is a nice, quick way to look more creative and empathetic, which is perfect for my business. I also enjoy that the jacket can work as a version of brown, which grounds and tones-down the high-energy and aggression of my red top. I think this is my new go-to way to wear red, because it feels more subtle, moody, mysterious... and more me!

I'll be back with a work outfit tomorrow but, until then, happy planning for casual Friday and the WEEKEND!
